A hospital space shelters vulnerability and strengthens the user. They can move from one host status to another: from being welcomed to welcoming. The studio incorporates hospitality into all its programmes through its research into intelligible and engaging spaces.

Discover how architecture and users influence each other to develop hospitality. These results come from the doctoral research work of Coline Periano (ENS - PSL).

Exploring the links between users and architecture in hospitals has led us to develop a new concept: clinical architecture.

Clinical architecture provides care by enabling medicine to understand the patient as a whole. It responds to needs by creating spaces that support the physical and mental lives of patients. It disseminates a model of care that is intimately linked to space, both within the hospital and across the city.

This concept of clinical architecture is currently being proposed, developed and experimented with in Coline Periano's research at Atelier Michel Rémon & Associés.
