Ma Santé - Lyon-Sud Hospital: the new emergency services are ready to receive their first patients
Work on the new emergency service at Lyon-Sud Hospital has been underway for two years, and it will open its doors on Thursday 28 March 2024. After the Edouard-Herriot emergency department in autumn 2023 and before the Croix-Rousse emergency department in 2026, the Hospices Civils de Lyon is continuing to modernise its emergency departments, with a view to adapting care and reducing waiting times. This is a response to the problem of overcrowding by optimising the organisation of space, but also to the saturation of the service, with the Lyon-Sud emergency department now designed to handle up to 40,000 patients a year.
